Best eCommerce Platforms That Work With Salesforce & AI in 2026

~ 5 min read

If Agentforce or another AI initiative is on your roadmap, the platform your commerce data lives on matters as much as the platform itself. A store can be excellent at selling and still create real work when it comes to feeding clean, structured, real-time data to Salesforce and its AI agents.

Most “best eCommerce platform” lists are written for a generic buyer. This one isn’t — it’s written for a business that already runs on Salesforce, or is evaluating Agentforce and needs commerce data to be part of that AI foundation. We’ve ranked each platform on how directly it connects to Salesforce, what that means for Agentforce and other AI initiatives, and where it still makes sense to look elsewhere.

As the maker of StoreConnect, we’re not a neutral party here — but every claim below is checked against public documentation and each platform’s own comparison page, linked so you can verify it yourself.

1. StoreConnect

StoreConnect is built entirely on Salesforce — not connected to it. Every order, product, customer, and inventory record lives directly in standard and custom Salesforce objects, so there’s no separate database to sync and no integration layer between your storefront and your CRM.

  • Salesforce integration: Native — zero API required
  • Agentforce readiness: Immediate — data is already in Salesforce objects

2. Agentforce Commerce (Salesforce Commerce Cloud)

Salesforce’s own commerce product is, unsurprisingly, deeply tied to the Agentforce and Salesforce ecosystem — it’s a credible option if you want commerce from Salesforce itself. The tradeoff is architecture: commerce data doesn’t sit in your core Salesforce org the way StoreConnect’s does, so aligning it fully with your CRM data still involves connectors and configuration, and its POS (Retail Cloud) is a separate, additionally licensed product.

  • Salesforce integration: Same vendor, but requires connectors to align data with core CRM objects
  • Agentforce readiness: Strong, with additional configuration for full data alignment

3. Adobe Commerce

Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) is a genuinely powerful enterprise platform, particularly for businesses already invested in Adobe Experience Cloud for personalization and marketing. It’s a strong choice if Adobe’s ecosystem — not Salesforce’s — is your primary stack. If Salesforce and Agentforce are the priority, Adobe Commerce runs as an isolated system requiring integration starter kits or custom connectors to keep CRM and storefront data aligned.

  • Salesforce integration: Via external connectors or integration starter kits
  • Agentforce readiness: Requires data pipeline work; Adobe’s own AI tools (Firefly, Brand Concierge) sit in a separate stack

4. Shopify

Shopify remains one of the fastest ways to launch a standalone online store, with a huge app ecosystem and merchant-friendly tooling. It’s built to operate independently of any CRM, though, which means Salesforce alignment depends entirely on third-party sync apps or custom API work — and that connection needs ongoing maintenance as both platforms update.

  • Salesforce integration: Third-party apps or custom API sync required
  • Agentforce readiness: Requires custom connectors and data pipeline work

5. BigCommerce

BigCommerce is a solid mid-market to enterprise SaaS platform with strong out-of-the-box B2C features and no per-transaction fees on most plans. Outside the Salesforce ecosystem it works well on its own terms. Bringing it into a Salesforce/Agentforce architecture means ongoing API pipeline maintenance and, for advanced B2B needs, its separately licensed B2B Edition.

  • Salesforce integration: API/middleware-based; no native connection
  • Agentforce readiness: Requires custom LLM connectors and data pipeline work

6. WooCommerce

WooCommerce pairs WordPress’s flexibility with a genuinely capable commerce plugin, and it’s a reasonable choice for teams already deeply invested in WordPress who want to add selling without migrating their CMS. Commerce data lives in a separate WordPress/MySQL database, though, so connecting it to Salesforce for CRM or Agentforce use means third-party plugins or custom API connectors — and ongoing plugin maintenance as your store grows.

  • Salesforce integration: Third-party plugins or custom API connectors
  • Agentforce readiness: Requires custom connectors; no native path to Salesforce objects

FAQs

Do I need Salesforce already to use any of these platforms?

No — Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and Adobe Commerce are all built to run independently of any CRM, Salesforce included. StoreConnect and Agentforce Commerce are the two built specifically for organizations already running on, or committed to, Salesforce.

What does “Agentforce-ready” actually mean?

It means an AI agent built on Agentforce can act on your commerce data — orders, inventory, customer history — without a separate data-mapping or integration project first. Platforms that keep commerce data in their own database, outside Salesforce, need that data connected before an agent can use it reliably.

Is a non-native integration a dealbreaker?

Not necessarily. Many businesses run Shopify, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce successfully alongside Salesforce using established sync tools. It’s a question of ongoing maintenance overhead and how current the data needs to be for your AI or reporting use cases — not whether it’s possible at all.

How was this list put together?

Each entry is checked against the vendor’s own public documentation and pricing pages, and against StoreConnect’s detailed one-to-one comparison pages, linked throughout. StoreConnect is our own product, so treat our ranking as one input among several — the linked comparison pages go into far more feature-level detail if you want to verify any claim yourself.
