In Salesforce's 2025 State of IT security research, 48% of IT security leaders worried their data foundation isn't set up to get the most out of agentic AI[^1]. Its State of IT research on AI and app development found 86% of IT leaders believe data quality makes or breaks AI effectiveness[^2]. Poor data quality already costs organizations an average of $12.9 million a year, according to Gartner[^3]. When commerce data is stored in Salesforce alongside customer records, the agent reads one source instead of a synchronized copy.
